Notice is hereby given that the Board of Education of the Lackawanna City School District, Erie County, New York, herein called the Owner, on June 25, 2020 at 2:00pm at the McKinley Administration Building Gymnasium, located at 245 South Shore Blvd., Lackawanna, NY 14218, will receive sealed proposals for Phase 4 of the Capital Improvement Project 2016.
The proposals will be, at that date, time, and place, publicly opened and read aloud, and will be available for viewing through a Zoom Meeting. All work shall be done in accordance with drawings and specifications prepared by Young + Wright Architectural, 50 Elk Street, Suite 200, Buffalo, NY 14210.
Plans and specifications are available to prime contractors on June 10, 2020 at 12:00pm by contacting The Copy Store at (716) 847-6400 or visiting their online plan room at www.buffalocopyplanroom.com. A deposit of $50.00 per set will be required & shall be made out to Lackawanna City School District. If you should have any questions, please contact Young + Wright Architectural at 716-842-1800.
A prebid conference call for all bidders will be held via Zoom on Monday, June 15, 2020 at 1:30pm, local time. Prospective bidders are requested to attend. Information can be found in the contract documents.
A formal onsite prebid walk-thru for all bidders will NOT be held due to the NYS regulations related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Site walk-throughs may be scheduled BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, with the Director of Facilities, Ken Jackson (716-440-4918), on the following day: Tuesday, June 16, 2020.

The deposit will be refunded to all Prime Contractor Bidders returning the drawings and specifications in good, unmarked condition within ten (10) working days after the bid opening. Prime contractors who are non-bidders returning complete sets in good, unmarked condition with the above time limit will be refunded also. No part of the deposit will be refunded for partial and/or damaged sets of the drawings and specifications.
Bid bond payable to the owner shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 5 percent of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after opening of bids. Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, to re-advertise for new bids and to waive informalities and irregularities in connection with any bid.
Bidders will note the required conditions of employment and the minimum New York State Labor Department prevailing wage rates to be paid under the contract. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to advertise anew, and to award a contract for the whole or such portion of the work as it determines to be in the best interest of the District.
